About Darrow School

Darrow School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school for grades 9–12 and postgraduates, located on a 365-acre campus in New Lebanon, NY — the site of the original Mount Lebanon Shaker Village, a National Historic Landmark. Founded in 1932, Darrow combines small class sizes with a competitive athletics program built to prepare student-athletes for the next level.

Darrow’s boys basketball program competes in NEPSAC Class AAA, the top classification among New England prep schools, under Head Coach Antonio Anderson, a University of Memphis alum entering his third season. Since 2016, the program has helped 34 players earn college scholarships, and the team plays a national schedule against some of the top prep programs in the country.

The Role

Darrow is hiring a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach to join the staff of one of the top prep programs in the Northeast, competing at NEPSAC’s highest level. This is a hands-on role working directly alongside Head Coach Anderson and the rest of the staff on player development, game preparation, and day-to-day program operations, with the opportunity to help build on the program’s recent momentum and track record of college placement. The role also includes supporting physical education at the school.

What We’re Looking For

  • Coaching experience at the high school, prep, club, or collegiate level, with a track record of player development
  • Strong fundamentals in scouting, game-planning, and film breakdown
  • Willingness to live on campus and take on residential and mentorship responsibilities as part of Darrow’s boarding school community
  • Ability to build trust quickly with student-athletes, families, and college coaches involved in the recruiting process
  • A collaborative approach to working under a head coach within an established, elite program culture

What Darrow Offers

  • Housing — covered, on-campus
  • Meals — covered
  • Salary — competitive, commensurate with experience
  • Program Exposure — the opportunity to work alongside an elite coaching staff in one of the top classifications in NEPSAC prep basketball
